Rapid and Inexpensive DNA Extraction Protocol from Gram negative and Gram Positive bacteria Chelab Rahman Laibi College of Education for Pure Science, University of Thi-Qar, Thi-Qar, Iraq Online published on 4 June, 2019. Abstract The aim of present study to develop a novel, efficient, rapid and Inexpensive and effective protocol to extract DNA from gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Many protocols have been recommended for DNA extraction from bacteria, and almost all of them are difficult and time consuming, dealing with high amount of toxic materials like phenol and chloroform. In summary, results have described a cell lysis and DNA purification procedure that appears to be suitable for obtaining high-quality DNA from both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The study was focused on a fast and reliable protocol with inexpensive and non-poisonous reagents for DNA extraction from different bacterial species, and the complete lysis and extraction procedure is carried out in a single microcentrifuge tube. Also the quality and quantity of the extracted DNA were surveyed by gel electrophoresis. Top Keywords DNA extraction, Rapid protocol, Efficient method. Top | |
