Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 for frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability verification, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. Findings The findings were as follows. First, the desire to win was positively correlated with all sub-variables of match performance ability. Second, a review of the association between the desire to win and match performance success in elementary school Taekwondo athletes showed a positive effect on all three sub-variables of desire to win (β=.111, p<.05), fighting spirit (β=.429, p<.001) and confidence (β=.187, p<.01). Third, a review of the association between the desire to win in Taekwondo athletes in elementary school and their psychological maturity revealed that there was a positive effect in desire to win (β=.248, p<.001) and confidence (β=.480, p<.001). Fourth, a review of the association between the desire to win in Taekwondo athletes in elementary school and their match performance maturity showed that there was a positive correlation in desire to win (β=.240, p<.001) and confidence (β=.467, p<.001).
