Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of play-based self-awareness training on the empowerment of multicultural children. SPSS version 20.0 for Windows was used for data analysis to verify the effects of the training program. Among nonparametric statistical methods, the Mann-Whitney U Test and the Wilcoxon Singed-Rank Test were conducted. The results of this study are summarized as follows. A play-based self-awareness training program is effective in improving the empowerment of multicultural children. Statistically significant differences were shown in all three lower-level elements of empowerment: personal ability, group consciousness, self-decision. This study has significance in terms that it proved the effects of a play-based self-awareness training program on the empowerment of multicultural children, and the effects were confirmed by an experimental study.
