Personal management and concept of a woman suffering cervix cancer

Abstract

Cervix cancer occurs because of the abnormal cell growth on cervix. Before the cell becomes cancer, there are some changes on the cell. The effect on the first stage is appearing bad odor on vaginal discharge, pink color or brownish, bleeding, abnormal menstruation, and feeling pain when having sex. The goal of this this research is to describe the personal concept and management of woman suffering cervix cancer in Kediri town. The research method uses qualitative research method. The data collected used prime and secondary then conducting depth interview. The respondents are 8 women having inclusive and exclusive criteria. Respondents were taken by the same characteristic such as: a woman being diagnosed cervix cancer and in cancer therapy treatment, being able to communicate in bahasa well, and clients were hearty became the participants and involved in the research. The result of the research shows 1) low self-esteem, 2) fear, 3) no bargaining position, 4) trouble routine, and 5) trouble finance management. The conclusion of the research is that there is trouble of personal concept like low self-esteem and role change, while personal management effects on trouble daily activity, and trouble in family finance management.
