Abstract Objective The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) on resilience of homeless women with abuse drug experience in recovery in Tehran. Methodology This is an experimental study with pre-test, post-test design and control group, population includes all homeless women with drug abuse who referred to Green landscape institution, freedom harm reduction (Marham camp) in Tehran in (2013). 30 of them were randomly chosen based on random sampling method and randomly divided into 2 groups of control and experiment (each 15).Conner and Davidson resilience scale (2003) questionnaire was used for data collection. In order to investigate the impact of CBT on resilience of homeless women with drug abuse experience in recovery, the experiment group were trained the concepts and principles of cognitive-behavioural treatment in 10 session for 90 minutes in the group and answered the questionnaire before and after the treatment sessions (pre-test post-test).Data were analysed by descriptive statistic(frequency, mean and standard deviation) and multivariate analysis of variance with SPSS software. Findings The results (P<0/01) indicated the CBT was significantly effective on homeless women's resilience in recovery after 10 sessions for 90 minutes. Conclusion The results indicated that the education of CBT could be effective on resilience of homeless women with drug abuse experience in recovery and these results could be used in clinical interferences.
