Abstract The purpose of this study is to compare the styles of child-rearing between addicted and normal people. The method is descriptive and of causal-comparative (ex post facto research). The statistical population of this research consists of all the addicted people who had referred the relief centre, affiliated to Sari's rehabilitation centre. 50 addicted and normal people had been chosen as a sample and were tested through random sampling method. The sample had answered the Baumrind's Questioner of child rearing styles. For data analysing, the T independent and ANOVA tests are used. Analysis of the results showed that there is a difference in childrearing styles of normal and addict people. Also, there is a significant difference among the three child-rearing styles of an addict and normal people. The results of this study are in a same direction with the previous ones.
