Psychological well-being studied extensively as there is a need to improve the state of mental conditions of people. Retirement tends to be perceived by society as a period characterised by passivity, social withdrawal, and physical and mental decline. Sisodia and PoojaChoudhary was used to measure the level of psychological wellbeing in retired working and nonworking persons. Scale measures 50 items namely satisfaction, efficiency, sociability, mental health and interpersonal relationship. Two-way ANOVA was employed to find out the influence of group and gender on psychological wellbeing. Results revealed that retired working persons have better PWB in all the five areas compared to retired nonworking persons. Apart from the area life satisfaction and efficiency, in all other areas male and female individuals males had higher PWB. The interaction effects between type of group and gender were found to be significant for the areas life satisfaction, sociability, and total psychological wellbeing.
