Abstract India's rise in Global FDI shows increasing Global Investors confidence in India. The Indian government's favourable policy regime in regard to opening up of economy and robust business environment leading to India's status of fastest growing economy have ensured that foreign capital keeps flowing into the country. The government has taken many initiatives in recent years and has relaxed FDI norms across sectors such as defence, PSU oil refineries, telecom, power exchanges, and stock exchanges, among others. Present study has covered FDI trends since FY 2001 and found that FDI inflows have gone up in India with Mauritius emerging as the Major Investor in India. Present study has also made sector wise, country wise and state wise analysis.
