Maternal Benefit Programmes for Inclusive Health Care: Perception After the Facts

Abstract

As we know India alone accounts for nearly 20% of the global burden of both maternal and child deaths against about 16% of its share in world population. In the developing national like India even today, baby delivery is the commonest phenomenon where life and death stand side by side for both, the new mother and her newborn baby. Any neglect or delay in care can unfavorably impact on both of them. In India the bulk of the population 72% resides in rural areas where they lack in sufficient information of various Govt. maternal health benefits. The rural areas need to be much facilitated with maternal health care facilities and education programme has to be implemented to promote awareness in the people regarding the available maternal health benefits. This article is based on the review of secondary data and concludes that for Inclusive Health Care a strong Maternal Benefit Programmes are required focusing rural people
