The influence of deposition temperatures (60ºC, 70ºC, 85ºC), pH (10,10.5,11) of the solution and annealing effect on deposited nano CdS thin film has been investigated. The deposited films were characterized by UV-visible spectrophotometer, Raman spectroscopy and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Nano crystalline CdS thin films are useful in different applications such as high frequency lasers and many other optical components etc. It was observed that the blue shift in UV-visible spectra depends on the temperature of deposition and pH of the solution. From SEM results it was observed that the surface morphology of the nano CdS thin film gets redistributed uniformly after annealing. The increase in FWHM of the peak observed at 304 cm−1 in Raman spectra reveals that there is a formation of nano CdS thin films.
