Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate tube cystostomy techniques along with urethrotomy and bladder repair for the treatment of urethral obstruction in bullocks. Tube cystostomy using either Foley’s or PVC catheter along with urethrotomy and bladder repair performed in cases of urolithiasis in adult bullocks with intact urinary bladder or ruptured bladder had high success rate of 70.83%. Surgical tube cystostomy in addition to urethrotomy and bladder repair was found to be superior to percutaneous tube cystostomy and urethrotomy. Foley’s catheter was found to be superior to PVC catheter for tube cystostomy and it increased the success rate.
