The dogs were divided into two groups, consisting of 6 animals each. Fracture segments were stabilized using open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) technique in group I and minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) technique in group II. Exudation was maximum on day 3 in both groups, but significantly (P<0.05) higher in animals of group I than group II. Weight bearing score while standing, walking and running was better in group II as compared to group I. Radiographic and ultrasonographic scores were better in group II throughout the study period. The results showed that MIPO is superior to ORIF. Top Keywords Dog, Fracture, Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis (MIPO). Top |
