Abstract The study is based on a PhD research work being carried out through the content analysis of LIS job advertisements published in Employment News, University News, and LIS-Links from 2012 to 2017. The job advertisements can be considered as an important source of employment information in a realtime requirement of the job opportunities. It may also help in to serve as a mirror to look in for important updates in the LIS curriculum in changing job market demands of new skills and competencies. In Library and Information Science (LIS), job advertisements have also proven to be an attractive and useful source for a research.
