Clinico-Diagnostic Aspects of Epistaxis in Canines

Abstract

Nine dogs were presented with sign of epistaxis. Of which, eight dogs had high fever, anorexia, anaemia along with epistaxis. Employing history, clinical signs, epidemiology, hemato-biochemical, ultrasonography, presence of intracellular rickettsial organisms in monocytes of 8/9 dogs and treatment response confirmed the cause of epistaxis as Canine Ehrlichiosis. Whereas, in one dog epistaxis was noticed due to trauma.
