Online published on 26 July, 2017. Abstract The prevalence of nasal schistosomosis of bovines was studied with respect to species, breed, sex and season for a period of one year. An overall prevalence of 16.88% (103/610) was recoved in bovines. The prevalence observed in buffaloes and cattle was 22.04% (82/372) and 8.82% (21/238) respectively. The infection was higher in females animals (17.59%) followed by males (5.55%). Breed wise analysis revealed highest prevalence in crossbred cattle (11.53%) and graded murrah (24.19%) than non-descript cattle (3.65%) and buffalo (11.29%). Further higher prevalence was recorded during summer season (20.5%) followed by winter (17.5%) and rainy season (12.85%). Treatment with parenteral administration of Lithium antimony thiomalate in one group and oral administration of Praziquantel in another group of animals was found effective.
