Online published on 26 July, 2017. Abstract Two equines were presented and treated for guttural pouch empyema tympany. The first equine was about seven year old Marwari breed mare with history of inflammatory swelling at laryngeal region. The mare was diagnosed based on physical examination and exploratory puncture and treated by drainage of abscess and antibiotics treatment. Recovery was achieved and mare came to full activity. The second equine was six months old Marwari breed filly that was admitted with history of unilateral swelling at the parotid gland region. The filly was diagnosed based on physical examination and exploratory puncture. The filly was underwent surgery and recovered fully. Our findings suggest that guttural pouch empyema and tympany must be considered in equines with signs of inflammatory swelling and respiratory dysfunctions.
