Abstract

A Doberman female dog was presented with history of in-coordination, frequent head tilting toward right side, horizontal nystagmus, walking short distance, falling on the floor and difficulty in getting up. General clinical examination, system wise examination, haemato-biochemical estimation and cerebrospinal fluid examination were carried out. Reports of haemato-biochemical estimation and cerebro-spinal fluid examination were unrewarding. Screening tests were done for ruling out Canine distemper, otitis and haemoprotozoan diseases. Based on the physical examination, haemato-biochemical estimation and cerebro-spinal fluid examination, the case was presumably diagnosed as Idiopathic vestibular syndrome. The dog was treated with Tab. Cinnarazine, Injection Methyl Prednisolone, Electrolytes, Mannitol, Vitamins and Ceftriaxone. The dog had complete recovered after 10 days.
