Hypocalcaemia in Bitches and its Nutritional Management

Abstract

Fifty dogs in advanced pregnancy were surveilled for eclampsia signs and serum calcium levels. Among them eight female dogs with positive symptoms were evaluated and six were confirmed positive. The positive dogs were successfully treated with calcium borogluconate, multivitamins and phenobarbitone.
