Clinical examination revealed hard swelling at palmar aspect of fetlock, lack of fetlock flexibility and mild lameness. Radiographic examination revealed adhesions and fibrous thickening of digital flexor tendon sheath wall. On the basis of history, clinical and radiographic examination it was diagnosed as ‘digital flexor tendon sheath (DFTS) tenosynovitis’ of chronic nature. Point firing using hot iron rod was undertaken under general anaesthesia. Broad spectrum antibiotic and NSAIDs were administered. Animals responded well and swelling subsided completely.
