Abstract A bullock was presented with total anorexia, suspended rumination, complete caesation of daefecation since last twelve days and bilateral abdominal distension. On basis of clinical signs, per-rectal examination and haematological findings, it was diagnosed as gastro-intestinal tract obstruction. Exploratory laparotomy was conducted at left ventro-oblique lateral abominal site. Rumenotomy was performed and large quantity of ruminal contents were removed and no obstruction was detected. After closure of rumen, the right side of abdominal cavity was explored. The invaginated or telescoped portion of intestine was mobilised to laparotomy site and it was found completely necrosed. The necrosed portion was resected and end to end entero-anastomosis was performed. Top Keywords Bullock, intussusception, surgical management. Top |
