Physical examination showed marked obesity and facial swelling with tragic facial expression. Hematological evaluation did not show any blood protozoans. The CBC values were in normal range. Serum biochemical analysis and thyroid function tests were consistent with hypothyroidism. The thyroid profile revealed TSH 0.05μl U/ml, T3-34.0ng/dl, T4-0.5 μg/dl. Levothyroxine therapy was initiated. Response to levothyroxine treatment was appreciable and dermatitis lesions resolved in six weeks. The dog made a full recovery within six months.
