Online Published on 20 April, 2022. Abstract A number of vitamins and trace minerals are involved in antioxidant defense system and deficiency of these nutrients may depress immunity in calves. Vitamins A, E and C are the main antioxidant vitamins. Certain micronutrients, such as zinc, iron and manganese are known to improve efficiency of antioxidant vitamins in lipid peroxidation prevention.
