Abstract

Five buffaloes with reticulo-diaphragmatic hernia were presented with history of recurrent tympany, partial or complete off feed, regurgitation from nostril and wasting body condition. It was diagnosed by clinical signs, auscultation of reticular sound at the level of 4th/5th ICS at right/left side of thoracic cavity, thoraco-abdominal plain lateral radiography and exploratory rumenotomy. Successfully diaphragmatic herniorrhaphy was performed through trans-abdominal approach under sedation and local infiltration anesthesia in supine position and uneventful recovery was noticed in all buffaloes.
