Abstract Nearly fifteen Agricultural Universities all across India are engaged in research activities for development of appropriate Homestead technologies for rural women to improve the quality of life of urban and rural families. In spite of the importance of these technologies in changing the life of rural women, Scientists could not develop suitable technologies because of various problems. With these points in view, the study was conducted to unearth problems faced by the Scientists in generation of homestead technologies and solutions to overcome them.An interview schedule was prepared to find out the problems faced by research scientists in generation of homestead technologies and solutions to these. The problems of research scientists were further categorised into five categories viz. technological, financial, infrastructural, organisational and social. Twenty eight University Scientists specialized in the selected homestead technologies were selected to collect responses for eliciting information. The data was collected, analysed statistically and presented. The problems reported by majority of the scientists were- excessive work load, lack of adequate fund, lack of adequate laboratory facilities etc. Top Keywords Generation, Homestead technologies, Problems, Scientists.
