Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to the agricultural sector of Haryana, a state in northern India known for its high agricultural productivity. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the impact of the pandemic on agricultural activities in Haryana. The study uses both primary and secondary sources of data to examine the effects of the pandemic on agricultural production, supply chain, and marketing, as well as the responses of farmers and policymakers to the crisis. The findings suggest that the pandemic has disrupted agricultural activities in Haryana in multiple ways. The lockdown measures imposed to control the spread of the virus have affected the availability of labour, inputs, and machinery, leading to a decline in crop yields and quality. The closure of markets and transportation restrictions has disrupted the supply chain, causing price volatility and food wastage. Moreover, the pandemic has exposed the vulnerabilities of the existing agricultural system and highlighted the need for resilience and innovation in the face of future crises. Overall, the paper provides a nuanced understanding of the impact of the pandemic on agricultural activities in Haryana and emphasizes the importance of building a sustainable and resilient agricultural system that can withstand future crises.
