Impact of carbon sources on Isaria fumosorosea (Wize) Brown and Smith and Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin – entomopathogenic fungi Gupta Kiran*, Singh H.K. Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur-492 012 *E-mail: guptakiran359@gmail.com
Online Published on 30 July, 2022. Abstract The present investigation was carried out at Bio-Control Laboratory, Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur during 2020-21. The in vitro study of the mycelial growth and biomass production of I. fumosorosea and B. bassiana and the effect of different eight carbon sources on the entomopathogenic fungi were observed. The mycelial growth and mycelial biomass of I. fumosorosea on media containing different carbon sources were maximum (8.43 cm) on cellulose and glucose (13.41 g), respectively. The mycelial growth and mycelial biomass of B. bassiana on media containing different carbon sources were maximum (9.00 cm) on starch and sucrose (14.50 g), respectively. From the study, it was concluded that I. fumosorosea and B. bassiana showed higher growth potentials on almost all the nutrients.
