Abstract

An efficient cleaning practice requires arduous physical labor and substantial time. Lack of these efficient cleaning practices may create heavy settlement of dust in the houses. A speck of dust may contain fabric fibers, human skin particles, animal dander, microscopic creatures called mites, bacteria, parts of cockroaches, mold spores, food particles and other debris. Of these house dust mites are the most common culprits. A person may be allergic to one or more of these substances, and, if exposed to the dust, will have an allergic reaction. The respiratory allergies are caused by the inhalation of dead or living mites, their faecal matter or other by products. House dust mites are also responsible for causing asthma, rhinitis and contact dermatitis. To control HDMs disinfectants are used. However, widespread use of synthetic (chemical) disinfectant causes detrimental environmental effects that are harmful to human beings as well as other forms of life. The traditional systems of medicine based on ancient cultures are primarily concerned with building the body strength which can help in healing the ailments and these systems rely largely on nature cure. Along with the natural abundance of plants, their genetic multiplicity and less pollution possibility are the key factors for their attractive prospect of application.
