Abstract The study implies that majority of the respondents were in young to middle age group with M.sc (Agri.) and Ph.D. (Agri.) graduate level of education and had low to medium level of working experience. This study on profile of the scientists working in Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of Gujarat was conducted in Gujarat where 97 responses were obtained as samples. A scale developed by Kumar and Kaur was used with due changes to assess the role performance of scientists working in KVKs. A total of 11 independent variables was selected. Majority of them were at the post of a scientist, less than half of the scientist had a low level of inservice training, and nearly half of the scientists had low level of organisational participation. The great majority of the respondents had a high level of interpersonal communication; medium to a high level of job satisfaction, high to a very high level of achievement motivation, nearly one-third of the scientists had very low job stress and high to a very high level of role performance.
