Abstract The purpose of the present paper is to examine the relationship between CSR, competitive performance, and financial performance of selected pharmaceutical companies in India. For measuring Competitive performance various parameters like PE Ratio and EPS are taken, for measuring financial performance ROA and PAT are taken and their relation with CSR expenditure and CSR spent is studied. Researchers for investigation has taken 10 pharmaceutical companies as a sample (Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, Cipla Limited, Biocon Limited, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited, Lupin Limited, Orchid Pharmaceuticals Limited, Cadila Healthcare Limited, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited, Abbott India Limited, Glaxo Smith Kline Pharmaceuticals Limited) and the data is taken from their annual reports of last 5 years from 2017 to 2022. The sample is taken on the grounds that these pharmaceutical companies have a major contribution to the Indian pharmaceutical sector. To find their relationship with CSR various tools like correlation and regression are used. The results conclude insignificant relationship between CSR and competitive performance whereas there is a positive relationship between CSR and the thefinancial performance of selected pharmaceutical companies.
