Online published on 24 January, 2020. Abstract Rape is a heinous crime against women, and gang rape occurs when a group of people participate in the rape of a single victim. In this paper, nine cases of gang rape have been analyzed. Most of the victims in this series were young teenagers. Further, in seven of these nine cases, the perpetrators were young boys, and most of these assailants were not known to the victims. Involvement of intoxicating agent was observed in two of the victims. Six of the nine cases of gang rape occurred outdoors in isolated areas in evening hours, and one girl was raped inside a hotel room. This case series is an analysis on the pattern of gang rape cases in this part of the country. Profiling of victims and perpetrators may be vital in devising preventive strategies.
