Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to demonstrate the power of MS-Excel as a tool to teach and learn forecasting techniques. ‘Forecast’ is chosen as a topic because often decisions are based on forecast of the future value of economic events and other situation. The information technology tool and the concept of demand forecasting helps in management. The package facilitates faster calculations and modifies the data as required. The spreadsheet has the quality of integration of graphics for effective presentation.
