Online published on 22 December, 2023. Abstract The primary objective of this investigation was to assess the utilization of Research4Life Resources among patrons of the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) library and its impact on their academic and research pursuits. This study selected a random sample of 50 NHRC library users, each provided with a structured questionnaire. Of the 50 participants, 40 completed the questionnaire. The findings of this study revealed that 75% of the users relied on the guidance of library staff in navigating the Research4Life resources. In comparison, 97.5% of them utilized Research4Life for accessing academic journals. Regarding literature exploration, 95% of participants turned to Google Scholar as their primary resource, followed closely by PubMed at 85%. Impressively, 80% of the respondents acknowledged the pivotal role that Research4Life played in their academic endeavours. However, 75% of them encountered difficulties due to a lack of direct access credentials, hampering their ability to harness these resources promptly. Only 10% of the participants reported receiving formal training on Research4Life usage. This study has conclusively demonstrated that Research4Life positively influences users’ research and academic communication. To further optimize the utilization of Research4Life, it is imperative that authorities address remote access challenges, provide users with formal training, enhance the content available on the portal, refine the search functionalities within Summon, and diversify marketing channels. This research has provided invaluable insights into how medical professionals leverage and benefit from the resources offered by Research4Life.
