Abstract Library portals are acting as a single interface to all its resources and services. In this digital era one cannot think a library without its website and web enabled information services. Library website or library portal is an effective tool for providing web based information services, especially when the users are more interested in getting digital information. Libraries are increasingly graduating to a stage, where both the collection and services should be web based to ensure user acceptance. The paper discusses about the web based information services offered by the library viz. Technical Information Resource Centre (TIRC) of Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL).
