Use of mobile phones for library assistance Dr. Chalukya B.V. Librarian, SCS College, Omerga, Osmanabad (MS) India, Email: drbvcin@gmail.com Online published on 28 January, 2020. Abstract Sweeping changes in the knowledge search behavior of users are triggered with the rapid growth and use of the internet. Libraries are increasingly reliant on providers of server and library technology to provide mobile software solutions and digital content pre-packaged access. The user base of mobile devices (mobile phones, palmtops, PDAs, etc.) also increases the demand for access to internet services for such devices. On the other hand, university library services must concentrate at material that is most used for off-site users, such as library hours, an online public database, learning guides, and instruction aids. Mobile library services thus allow users to download and study materials published on user mobile devices at anytime and anywhere by the university library. Communication is the information exchange process. Mobile phones have revolutionized ordinary people's everyday lives. Research has found that students want to use their technological devices to access information quickly and efficiently within the context of higher education. It is expected that mobile Internet users in India will hit 165 million by March 2015. The development in mobile technology makes it possible to gain interaction with the user community. Telecommunications infrastructures should be put in place to ensure effective and efficient interaction between library users and employees, resulting in assistance to the mobile phone library. This research examines the possibility of mobile phone library support.
