Abstract The emergence of electronic formats of publishing has resulted in to the formation of library consortia for resource sharing among the member libraries on economic basis. Various types of library consortia are formed in the recent past; such as CeRA, NKRC and E-Shodhsindhu. But no library consortium seems to be working in the field of medical science except that ERMED. Thus, an idea for forming a medical library consortium for Rajasthan state is floated in this paper.
