Abstract

It has been proven beyond doubt that, in addition to other factors, orthodontic force can act as a stimulus to initiate apical root resorption. If orthodontic forces are not properly applied, orthodontic tooth movement can cause degenerative and/or inflammatory responses in the dental pulp that may lead to periapical pathology. Orthodontic and endodontic interrelationship envelops pulpal changes and with resorptive changes of the root due to the orthodontic tooth movements included in the clinical management of such cases. This article includes a case report highlighting endodontic management of root resorption observed during orthodontic treatment.
