Online published on 9 November, 2012. Abstract Many options are available for the treatment of discoloured teeth. These include bleaching, micro abrasion, resin composite veneers and crowns. Porcelain veneers are good choice in suitably selected cases as they provide good esthetics, durability, resistance to staining and more tooth tissue preservation when compared to crowns. Clinical techniques are described and a case is presented to illustrate procedures to ensure veneer durability. A 24yr old male, affected with generalized fluorosis sought treatment for esthetic improvement of his colored teeth. All treatment options were considered for the patient but porcelain veneers were the best treatment option. Managing severe tooth discolorations requires thorough consideration of all patient factors, treatment provided in a logical sequence and the use of porcelain veneers with adequate masking ability.
