Abstract

Formal education systems be it Medical, Dental, Management, Engineering, Law or any other domain is aimed at enhancing the subject knowledge of an individual. One gets sound technical knowledge and clinical skills, what remains lacking is the soft skills component of the student. Soft skills refer to the bouquet of intrapersonal and interpersonal non-technical skills which are required by every professional and academician who wants to reach the zenith of professional success. While academic knowledge prepares a dental professional for clinical practice in his speciality, soft skills decide how well he/she manages people: patients, staff, professional associates, suppliers and members of his social group.
