Online published on 24 January, 2018. Abstract With the expeditious evolution of technology, new lasers with a wide horizon of attributes are available promptly in various fields of dentistry. On the spectrum of light, the introduction of lasers has revolutionised the technology. Use of lasers by clinicians has overcome several complications and patient's discomfort. The aim of this article is to give an overview of the current and possible future clinical applications of lasers in dentistry, including their use in treatment of oral mucosal lesions, salivary gland pathologies, TMJ disorders, biopsies, frenectomy, crown lengthening, gingivectomy and myofascial pain.
