Abstract

The invention of three-dimensional (3D) printing has led us to boost the ordinary two-dimensional (2D) printing and has allowed us to produce 3D objects, which are the exact copies of the actual object, especially in medical applications. So, 2D printing will be eradicated by 3D printing within a short period. In this article, we discuss about their brief historical background, principles, types, extensive uses and limitations in dentistry.
