Abstract Myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome (MPDS) is one of the most important reasons for orofacial pain. It is an extremely painful condition. Various precipitating factors could be the cause of MPDS. If this condition is left undiagnosed or untreated, it can lead to the loss of function and chronic pain. As MPDS consists of variable symptoms, providing a definite conclusion is extremely difficult. There are multiple treatment options available for MPDS. In this case report, a female patient, suffering from myofascial pain, was treated successfully with transcutaneous electric stimulator and by stabilising the occlusion.
