The etiopathogenesis of BMS is not known, though different psychological and biological factors have been implicated. There is also increasing body of evidence pointing to neuropathic origin. Although effective therapies have been identified in concrete cases, a treatment modality offering efficacy in most cases of BMS remains to be established. This article is an effort to review and update various treatment modalities for this complex disorder.
