Abstract A 15-year-old male with a history of trauma to maxillary central incisor was referred for treatment. Radiographic examination showed an unusual foreign object in the root canal. A minimal amount of tooth structure was removed around the foreign object to facilitate access for K and H type files. Under copious irrigation, the files were worked around the object to loosen it. The foreign body was removed with a tweezers that had long, narrow beaks which allowed the object to be removed from the root canal with minimal damage to internal tooth structure. This article describes use of this simple technique in successful treatment of a permanent tooth with a foreign body in the root canal. Top Keywords Foreign body in root canal, root canal treatment.
