Abstract

A laboratory experiment on biochemical variability studies of Metarhizium anisopliae was carried out to assess the protein content and isozymes viz., esterase, protease, lipase, chitinase, peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase and electrophoretic analysis of protein and esterase banding pattern in five different isolates of M.anisopliae. The highest protein content and six different isozymes were recorded on isolates Ma-PDBC, followed by Ma-IIHR and Ma-TNAU. The lowest protein and six isozymes activities were recorded on Ma-ITCC and Ma-AKL. The SDS-PAGE and Native PAGE analysis was also showed the maximum number of protein and esterase bands in isolate Ma-PDBC (four and six bands) and bands could be grouped into three categories based on the quantitative and qualitative analysis of protein and isozyme content.
