Identification of Peanut Bud Necrosis Virus in Sunflower Pranav C, Krishnaraj P.U., Kuruvinashetty M.S. Institute of Agri-Biotechnology, University of Agricultural sciences, Dharwad-580005, India. Abstract Peanut Bud Necrosis caused by PBNV is remerging as one of the economically important viral diseases on several crops in India. In the present study virus infected sunflower samples were collected from two districts of Karnataka. Total RNA was isolated and RT-PCR was done using PBNV partial Cp gene specific primers the amplicon was cloned and then confirmed by sequencing. The sequencing result revealed the amplicon to be part of PBNV Cp gene. Hence, sunflower seems to be a newer host for PBNV, which could be devastating in future for sunflower cultivation.
