Abstract Aim To research (bio)ethics curricula in programmes of postgraduate doctoral and specialist studies at medical schools in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and to propose standards for the (bio)ethics curriculum for postgraduate scientific studies and specialist studies for physicians. Method and Research Procedures The arrangement of the system of postgraduate education of physicians was tested by content analysis of programme and legal acts under which this education is planned, organised and realised. The pattern included six medical schools from three countries: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. The existence of bioethics curriculum in postgraduate education of physicians was researched through analysis documents. The following results were achieved researching the websites of medical schools, medical chambers and ministries of health of the countries in pattern. Results On a practical level, research should result in the proposal of a concept for (bio)ethics curriculum specified for postgraduate/doctoral studies and postgraduate specialist studies.
