Refresher Course: A Ritual or Tool

Abstract

The aim of this present paper is to analyze the refresher course of Library and Information Science conducted by University Library of Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak (Haryana) whether such kind of refresher courses are mere rituals to get the Senior scale/Selection grade or these are the tools for the continuing education/professional development. The paper also presents the results of the study conducted through a structured questionnaire. The results indicate that these courses are not mere rituals rather these serve as the best tool for continuing education and professional development.
