Information Needs of Distance Learners in Bangalore University, Bangalore: A Study Roja M Research Scholar, Bangalore University, smilingfriends18@gmail.com Online published on 17 September, 2019. Abstract The study focuses on the information needs of distance learners of the Bangalore University, Bangalore, Karnataka. The main objective was to know the information needs of postgraduate commerce students. The study was a survey and made use of a questionnaire as research instrument. The stratified random sampling technique was used. Total 100 questionnaires were distributed randomly to the distance learners. 88 questionnaires were received back from the respondents. Based on the findings, it was recommended among other things that distance learners expected the university library to provide more library materials and services. Distance learners need awareness programme on e-PG Patashala and use of the digital information on their course. Distance learners lack information searching techniques and skills, for that Bangalore University can conduct the refresher course for the students.
