Online published on 29 October, 2012. Abstract Five hybrids were studied in F1 and F2 generation for heterosis and inbreeding depression for plant height, number of branches, number of pods, seeds per pod, test weight and seed yield. All the hybrids exhibited significant relative heterosll for seeds per pod. Standard heterolls was exhibited for seeds per pod by one hybrid and for leed size by two hybrids. All the flve hybrids analysed were luperlor to mid parent, better parent and standard variety. Inbreeding resulted in increase in plant height in three crosses. Branch number wal reduced in four hybrid combinations. Decrease in pod number was observed due to selflng in all the varieties. Seeds per pod was unaffected by inbreeding, There wal decrease as well as increase in seed weight in the F2 generation. Top | |
