Hindi Language Cinema and Community Development: Towards a Progressive Outlook

Abstract

Purpose

The rise and fall of a civilization depends on the progressive role its population plays. A nation can be considered truly progressive only when the citizens enjoy greater comfort to express themselves. Thought process is one of the key elements in the road to success.

Design/methodology/approach

The present study takes into consideration the role of Indian cinema in making the society vibrant through imitation. Cinema has always helped cultivate opinions and project characters, irrespective of gender, in a way that define the status of society. The present study takes into consideration instances from contemporary Hindi language cinema in order to reflect the matured understanding of societal relations that motivate masses to look at the concept of development in a renewed manner. The study is a qualitative analysis of cinematic stories and also takes into consideration the film industry as a whole to realize the dream of Viksit Bharat.

Findings

The findings of the study indicate a mainstreaming phenomenon of traits that have revolutionized the storytelling and enhanced the usage of modern technologies for economic dimensions.

Originality/value

Indian cinema is both a potent soft power to expand economic relations abroad as well as present its culture and heritage and boost tourism.
